The Brief
Lovin Malta approached me with their plan to hold Malta’s biggest music awards ceremony. With one of the largest online influences in the country, Lovin Malta was to conduct all the voting and nominations online.
I knew this would be a mammoth task but gladly jumped on board as a chance to put all my skills to work. From the logo down to the visuals for the night, there was a lot of work to be done.
Branding & Identity
The client came with a relatively small starting point. They wanted things to be loud. They wanted 3D visuals involved. They wanted to communicate organic growth.
At this phase I trawled the net for similar endeavours along with anything else I thought would fit the bill. The goal, as always for this stage, was discovering the direction of the project arm in arm with the client.
Via the research, we identified that a sharply constructed logo to contrast busy and loud backgrounds was the direction to take. Through a further look at visual cues, the client fell in love with using sound waves to represent that meeting point of Music & Digital.
3D Visuals
Next up was the 3D to supplement the identity. I spent my days researching cloning, textures, looping and MoGraph effectors in Cinema 4D that would help to achieve the communication of growth.
I developed early stage style frames and a half resolution render to show the client to ensure we were headed down the right track.
